Susan Slack,
Born in Buffalo NY
Studied voice, acting, dance, drum & writing.
Recorded three albums,
A professional percussionist, vocalist and composer, she has lived in Sarasota for thirteenyears. She has trained with percussionists and spiritual teachers from around the world. Susan was a Teaching Artist for the Sarasota County Arts Council for ten years and owned the Open Circle Players, an interactive theatre company that toured schools and festivals throughout the state with interactive, multicultural musical folktales. She also offered in-service training to teachers state wide, with her Reading Rhythm program, and wrote "Come Join the Circle" to support that work. She is a certified Dances of Universal Peace leader. The constant theme in all these ventures is world cultures and the music which nurtures them.
